A Notable Admission

Canadian feminist Barbara Kay has made a notable admission in her latest piece.

First, to answer your questions about feminists: They not only expect, but they have been responsible for getting many rights for women. Instead of giving you a list, I will simply say that the overwhelming right that women have in the West is the right to control over their sexual lives without being judged. Women demand – and get – the right to have as many love affairs as men, the right to not have children if they don’t want them, the right not to be raped by their husbands, the right to initiate and get a divorce for any reason at all, the right to have custody of their children (except in very unusual cases), and the right to be protected from sexual harassment in school and work. It is a serious offense for a man to be accused of sexual harassment of a women, even if only in words or jokes or anything at all that the woman considers an insult. I would say that women have more rights than men here, and that is all the result of feminism.

Let me highlight the key points here:

the right to initiate and get a divorce for any reason at all

the right to have custody of their children (except in very unusual cases)

It is a serious offense for a man to be accused of sexual harassment of a women

even if only in words or jokes or anything at all that the woman considers an insult.

Then she drops the bombshell:

I would say that women have more rights than men here, and that is all the result of feminism.

Congratulations, Ms. Kay! MRAs have only been saying that for, ooh, a couple of decades now.

So, Ms. Kay - since you have found enlightenment ...

... since you believe in equality between men and women ...

... and you believe in equal rights and all that good stuff ...

... and you fully accept that women have more rights than men ...

... and blame feminism entirely for this outcome ...

... Ms. Kay ... just between us MRAs, what are we going to do about this?

  1. Uh, dude, read more than one article before you go thinking she's a feminist.

She's one of the very few mainstream media journalists that can be counted on consistently coming down on the side of mens rights. This article refers to feminists in "they" terms throughout...that should be a hint.

  3. Factory,

Take it up with Hawaiian Libertarian. He was my source, and he refers to her as a 'Canadian feminist.'
